The oldest night club in Japan since 1990, Club Metro is becoming the source of cultural trends with a strong focus on the quality of music, art, etc. Many local artists started out at Metro and advanced overseas. Examples are like Mondo Grosso, FPM, to name a few. In addition, we have been inviting a variety of artists from across the globe monthly. Examples are Aphex Twin, Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Daft Pank, Arto Lindsay, James Blake, Africa Bambaataa, etc, any more. In the early evenings, Metro sometimes host a culture school “Metro College” that picks up a variety of themes. The themes include minimal arts, movies, and talk shows. We also help to showcase Kyoto’s culture through a partnership with Kyoto City on events like the International Art Festival. Another AWESOME fact, we were ranked 14th on the list of “the weirdest places.”
