Located in the heart of the constantly buzzing Shibuya is one of Tokyo’s most revered and impressive clubs. The entrance is hidden from the city’s main streets, making Contact home to the more discerning techno and dance music fan. In addition, It has an excellent sound system and a reliably good clientele. This is why the likes of Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Nicholas Jaar, and Giorgio Moroder have rolled through Contact’s doors in recent times. The main room features a very strict no drinks, no cameras policy. To add, to enter, visitors must register online to become a member. This is to gain access to the venue. But once you get through the doors of Contact, you’ll agree the effort is worth it.

Even though it is quite near the Shibuya station, it is a bit hard to find the entrance of this venue. It actually took me half an hour to find out. But the venue itself is pretty awesome – I always drop by whenever hiphop gigs are on. No commercial vibe at all.

Nearly 100 meters from the Shibuya train and subway station is Contact club. They are famous for techno eventAccutron with local and international DJ’s. The dance floor was spacious! Tremendous sound quality even at the far end, Thethrobbing bass brings the room to life. There is a smaller dance floor near the big bar. There’s also a small bar near the big dance floor. A verycozyand comfortable club. A wonderful place with pure club culture. There were gigs like a psychedelic rock band, HipHop band and an electronic music collective. Water costs 500 yen for a small bottle. Soothing ambience. Before 11pm entry is 1000 yen. Locker is free. All in all a soothing place.
