The hill of Minami-Yamate is home to the Glover Gardens, a preserved historical structure dedicated to Thomas Glover. This place will bring you back in time. You can see the residential area of foreigners who first started trading and business in Nagasaki. The garden is adorned with lights at night illuminating your leisure walks at the gardens. In addition, it overlooks the harbor. To sum it up, against the city lights, the view is just perfect.

To get an insight into the history of Japan, I visited “Glover Gardens” with my family during my Nagasaki. It’s an ancient place surrounded by beautiful gardens and the architecture of houses takes you back in the old times. The view over the harbor is magnificent. There were a wide variety of flowers including cherry blossoms. It was a visual treat to see the illumination during night in the gardens, we took a walk and it was the best time ever spent. Highly recommended!!!
