Opening its doors 20 years ago, this Shibuya institution has a reputation for being the best hip hop club, not only in Tokyo, but in the whole of Japan. Booking both local and international DJs and performers, the venue is as diverse as the music is loud, and it’s really loud. Harlem is also the best place to witness up and coming Japanese hip hop stars cut their teeth and learn the tricks of the trade before taking over the J-Hip hop charts.

The beats were great and it was all black music. However, there was drinking and smoking ON the dance floor, so the floor was super sticky from all the drinks on the floor, and there were butts all over the floor.Entrance for men was 3500¥. Harlem at Shibuya is a club where DJ played nice hip-hop and trap music really loud. So best not to sit at front. Drinks are inexpensive and the vibes are awesome and you can hear hip-hop cuts rare even in the Harlem in US. The customers are international, and of mixed colors. There were many black folk from the US, Caribbean and Africa but it’s also full of lovely Japanese gals and guys who love hip-hop culture. The beats were amazing the music was all black. But there was too much drinking and smoking on the dance floor which made it sticky with butts all over the floor
