Though it’s typically known as a place to see indie and rock, Liquid Room in Ebisu is also an excellent hip hop venue. If it’s international touring acts you’re after, chasing chances are they’ll make an appearance at this stylish venue. Thanks to its quality sound system and hardworking booker, it’s become a local favourite for many big names like Japanese hip hop legend KOHH and US controversy starter Tyler the Creator.
This place is recommended for foreign tourist who wants to experience the Japanese RockN’Roll scene.

This venue is a little far away from the nearest station which you would need to keep in mind when you go. But other than that, this venue is one of my favourite ones in Tokyo – they are huge but still have some underground vibes. The bar area is separated from the actual performance area so you can chill with your friends without being bothered by loud sounds.

One of the huge live clubs in Tokyo is Liquidroom described as legendary by international publications. It is a club with techno and house nights attracting domestic and overseas artist. It moved to upmarket Ebisu and now offers few club nights and many straight up live events. The setups is wonderful and the staff is very cooperative. Its one of the best places in Tokyo to enjoy underground electronic music with great vibes and a marvellous sound system.
