Passed down from generation to generation, the landlady here does everything from making advertisements for her ryokan to welcoming guests in her kimono. There will be times when she might be too busy to greet you, but know that the landlady and her team of 30 are doing everything to make you feel at home. In addition to its warm hospitality, Ryokan Gion Shinmonso also has a rooftop beer garden during the summer.

Best way to experience Japanese culture!!!!

During our Kyoto visit, I decided to stay here with my family during Sakura season. The room we took was spacious with amazing tatami mats. The traditional breakfast and dinner was fantastic. The outside view was full of cherry blossoms and we were extremely happy seeing them. It was wonderful way to experience the Japanese culture.
