The Kinoe in Gion, close to many tourist spots such as Yasaka Shrine, Kodai-Ji Temple and Kennin-Ji Temple makes for a great base for your exploration of the city. With exquisite views over Kyoto, fantastic service and authentic, elegant cuisine, this one makes our list without difficulty.

Excellent stay with kaiseki dinner

Kinoe was the place that I decided to stay with my husband during my Kyoto trip. The traditional room was excellent. The decor is impressive. There was also an onsen where we enjoyed the hot bath. The staff treated us with royalty in providing all services. The breakfast and dinner were wonderful. It was a very serene experience living in this peaceful place and we had a memorable time here.
