Circus has taken over the space vacated by long-running underground haunt Amate-Raxi. Why? Because Amate-Raxi closed down in August 2015 after eight years in Shibuya. With this, Circus has been a real buzz-generator on the Tokyo club scene since opening in October 2015. It is tucked behind the railroad tracks of the famous Yamanote line. And though it’s a little out of the heart of Shibuya, it draws punters night after night with its well-curated lineups of dance and electro acts. Featuring a variety of genres, a Circus party is always eclectic, and always fun. One of the venue’s main drawcards is its regular daytime parties which are open to dance music lovers of all ages.

The Circus with Enticing Music!

3.0/ 5

Different music on different floors loved by the young customers. Trendy underground club with unbelievable acoustics. The Fabulous line-ups from around the world. Indie rock, house and techno. You can smoke only in the smoking area upstairs The prices are reasonable for Tokyo, but value for your money. The friendly staff spoke English. 3000 yen entry is a bit high but it is worth it as no second hand smoke. Recent digital DJ was enjoyable.
