Classic Bar Oribe was named after Furuta Oribe, a samurai and master of the tea ceremony. The panoramic view of the Kabukiza Theatre from the seventh floor bar is complemented by great cocktails and tasty dishes. The simple but tasteful décor is inviting and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. After watching an enjoyable show at the theater, stop by at Oribe and order the sublime silver bullet.

There were five of us looking for a nice place to have some good drinks and food. We found this bar on the 7th floor in a building opposite the Kabukiza theatre. The place was not very big but it had the classic Japanese feel and was comfortable. The old Japanese owner was truly amazing. He rattled of names of cocktails instead of presenting a menu. 2000 yen a cocktail wasn’t cheap. The food though not in a great variety in small portions was truly delicious. We came happy as if we had just been served by the chieftain of the FurutaOribe (1544-1615) on whose name this bar was named after.
