Gonpachi’s popularity rose to new heights after it was rumored to be the backdrop for the iconic fight scene in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill. Despite the fame, Gonpachi maintains a modest menu with prices starting at around 300 yen (US$2.70) and includes favorites like tempura and yakisoba. Reservations strongly recommended. Open for lunch.

Awesome atmosphere, food and service

5.0/ 5

I visited this place last night with my children and husband as its a Disney style izakaya. It has very comfortable and lively atmosphere. It has extensive selection of tempting food and drinks. In summer, they offer soft drinks, oolong tea and “moogi cha” which is prepared from toasted barley. Gonpachi offers a splendid and wide ranging a la carte menu starting from appetizers to main course like chicken, beef and veggies on skewers, grilled fish and fascinating soba dishes. Food quality was classic and taste was superb. The place has captivating ambiance with music, energy and cooperative staff.
